Iraqi oil exports increased by 12%
The Ministry of Oil spokesman Assem Jihad, announced that the Iraqi Oil exports increased by 12 percent in March, compared to the previous month.
Jihad said that the exports of Iraqi oil during the month of March amounted to 56.3 million barrels, up nearly six million barrels from February.
He added that oil exports during the month of February were 50.5 million barrels.
Jihad clarified that the financial income of oil exports during the last month reached 2.489 billion dollars at a sale price of 44.21 dollars per barrel. While the income of oil export during February reached 1.922 billion dollars.
There were 26 American, European and Asian companies as well as one Arabic bought these quantities of Iraqi oil.
Jihad denoted to the export of 43.2 million barrels through the port of Basra and Khor al-Amaya in the south, and 13.1 million barrels through the Turkish port of Ceyhan.
Iraq has reserves of 115 billion barrels in size, while unconfirmed estimates exceed the size of two hundred billion barrels.
Before the U.S. invasion in 2003, Iraq was exporting about three million barrels per day, while today produces 2.286 million barrels per day, and only 1.85 million barrels are allocated for export.
